Markets, and Elephants, and Tigers - Oh my!

I think today was one of the most eventful days of my life!
There is so much to tell, and I think the pictures would be so much more interesting, but I'm sorry that for now it's just my lousy words.
We were picked up at 6:45am and drove around for a bit. Then we headed to the most famous floating market in Thailand. It's one long canal and you can sit in a boat and pass other boats of Thai people selling many different things - mostly fruits.
We also had to buy a t-shirt because we were wearing tank tops and this was not appropriate for the tigers we would be visiting later - it would make them too aggressive - just kidding. It's actually because of the monks that take care of the tigers!! haha

Then we headed to some smaller stops: furniture store, lunch, and Elephant Village!
I actually rode on top of a huge beast of an elephant through a jungle. It was incredible!

We visited the historic and beautiful area of the River Kwai. Very interesting.

Then we headed for the Tiger temple. We were able to sit, pet, pretend to nap with, many tigers. The baby one was so cute. The bigger ones in the canyon were quite a bit more aggressive and we were lead around with a volunteer there that took lots of pictures with all the tigers there. It was over so fast, but quite the experience to be around such wild tigers!

Yesterday, we also toured the city of Bangkok, it was so much to see, but we did it and drove around in a little tut tut (anyone watch the amazing race??) and it was pretty crazy. But he took us around for the day for only about 60cents!!! This included a stop at a travel agent who helped us basically plan the rest of our vacation in Thailand. A nice relief and a great deal!
Tomorrow we are off to the island for a little R&R after the last few busy days.
Oh, and we all still like each other - most of the time! haha.
Talk to you all again soon.
